Flash Mob and the Next2Friends Members of the Week
Fun With Next2Friends, Next2Friends, Technology, Web / Tech, What People Are Saying Add commentsAcid House Flash Mob Tonight
This week’s Member of the week was pretty simple to come by:
Clearly the undisputed Member of the Week! Why? Smiley has made Next2Friends one of the exclusive places where he will be announcing the secret location of tonight’s Acid House Flashmob. What’s Acid House? What’s a Flashmob? Good questions. From Wikipedia:
“Acid House is a sub-genre of house music that emphasizes a repetitive, hypnotic and trance-like style, with samples or spoken lines usually used rather than sung lyrics.”
Again from Wikipedia:
“A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse.”
Ok, now that we all understand what we’re talking about, tonight, to mark the 20th anniversary of Acid House, at 6:20 GMT a group of people will be gathering Flash Mob style in central London to sing D-Mob’s, “We Call it Aciid”. People will be encouraged to recreate the feel of a 1988 Acid House party. Then at 6:30 GMT…it’s over! Don’t believe us? It was even reported in the UK’s Guardian blog by Jemima Kiss! And all of the action will be brought to you live on Next2Friends! Be sure to tune in, and in the mean time check out this awesome video illustrating Smiley’s Acid House dance moves:
